Be Kind to Arachnids

As an extra-credit opportunity, you may post a poem, story, or any other piece of Creative Writing that celebrates Be Kind to Arachnid Week. You must post this writing by no later than Saturday, October 31 and can receive up to 10 extra credit points on your blog grade this quarter, depending on the quality of the post. Post your work right here as a comment to this post so that everyone can see it easily and enjoy your spirit and creativity.

To inspire you, here is the little ditty I composed in my journal.

The night was still in Spider Town
And Daddy Longlegs wore a frown.
"I wonder why," thought Dad aloud
"Arachnids don't attract a crowd.
We kill mosquitoes, flies, and bugs,
But no one seems to give us hugs."
Then suddenly, from up the street
He heard the sound of marching feet
And round the bend came quite a crowd
Whose singing was so very loud.
The spider song they all did sing
And each one wore a spider ring.
They all cheered Daddy, and his frown
Just disappeared... turned upside down!
So when you see a spider, sing!
You'll make it smile, and earn a ring!!!!

Super Silly Sammy Spider slicked sideways secretly down his slippery web on a sensationally sunny Sunday. Searching for something to snack on, Sammy accidentally spotted Sid Snake. Sid spent Sundays searching for spiders to eat for supper. Sid spotted Sammy and secretly found a sinister scheme in order to eat Sammy Spider. As Sammy slowly stepped back towards his slippery web, Sid slipped, slithered, and hissed his way also towards Sammy's web. Sammy started to accelerate towards his web which made Sid speed up as well. Sammy stepped on his web and was safely in his home as Sid slipped too fast, causing him to slide and stumble.

The sight of a spider
Sounds of little a girl cries
Don't be afraid
They only eat flies
Gnats and mosquitos
And other bugs to
If it weren't for them
What would we do?
There would be more bugs
That would pester and annoy
So next time theres a spider
Show him your joy
Show him you don't mind him
Having a home in yours
Tell him he can stay
If he does his chores
Just eat the bugs
That bother my home
If you do that
We'll leave u alone.

My dearest friend's name is Smooch,
He is tiny and covered with hair,
If you do not watch where you step,
He might just give you a scare!!

Smooch has eight legs,
No more, no less.
He has very sharp fangs, and many large eyes,
So when he eats, there isn't much mess.

Do you know what he is?
He illicits emotions, though is terribly meek,
Smooch is a spider!
Oh! Please don't shriek!

Don't be scared, hold on tight,
Smooch is kind, very sweet.
He is really quite shy, but would love to be friends,
Please don't be put off, by his six extra feet.

I think either me or pete should be king, because pete had the spiderman mask and I'm just me. As of spider queen, I think it should be Jose. Jose had that spider necklace yesterday.
